Parents as Partners in the EYFS

Parents as Partners in the EYFS

Research shows that where parents play a key part in educating their child, identify learning and development needs and provide appropriate development, then this will enhance the learning and development the child undertakes at the nursery.

  • Acknowledge parents as a child’s first and most enduring educators

  • Assign a key worker to each child who will work to form a warm, trusting, respectful relationship with that child and their family

  • Work with parents to enhance learning and development

  • Establish an ongoing dialogue with parents, share information, take account of parents’ own observations of their child and support learning in the home
